-CONTENT PRODUCTION-
YOODLI
(Not sponsored)
When I first started creating video content, I thought I’d be most worried about my editing chops.
But after filming my first video?
Nope - I was way more concerned about how I communicated.
I sounded flat, used plenty of filler words, and spoke too fast.
Poor communication and delivery can destroy a good piece of content.
I found a tool that can help.
Yoodli is a free AI tool that gives you personalized communication coaching.
I’ve been using it for a few weeks and have to say it has some clear use cases for content creators.
How It Works đź’Ş
It first connects to your camera and/or microphone.
Then, it films and records you speaking.
Finally, it gives you a personalized analysis of your visual and verbal delivery (with a transcript to boot).
Here are the main features of its analysis:
It summarizes the key points you made
Number of filler words
“Weak” words
Alternative ways of saying things
Use of pauses
Loudness
Pacing and pacing variation
Getting Started 👇️
1. Go to https://app.yoodli.ai/
Set up a free account.
2. Enter the speech analysis section
Click “Practice” then “Speech”.

Give Chrome access to your camera and/or microphone.
I often like to leave my camera disconnected and just have my speech analyzed.
3. Record yourself speaking
Click record - there’s no time limit as far as I’m aware.
Once you’re done, click stop and wait for Yoodli to generate your analysis.
4. Go through your analysis
It’ll give you a transcript - very cool but not always as accurate as I would like.
The “Speaking Insights” that crop up as a sidebar on the right are way more useful.

The analysis is split into “Coaching” and “Analytics”.
Coaching summarizes the key points of what you said and gives you a few suggestions for alternative phrasing.
Analytics is where the magic happens:
Word choice - It tells you what percentage of your words were filler words (eg. uhms and ahs) and “weak” words.
Delivery - A breakdown of your volume and pacing. Too fast/slow or too quiet/loud → Yoodli will let you know.
Limitations 👎️
The transcript - as mentioned earlier, it isn’t always accurate. But as we’re using this tool to analyze how we’re speaking as opposed to what we’re saying, this doesn’t really matter.
While this isn’t really a limitation (yet), I can’t imagine this tool being free forever. It’s definitely worth making the most of it for now.
Use Cases For Content Creators ⚒️
🎙️ Podcasters: Improve speaking skills and delivery.
🎥 YouTubers: Enhance on-camera presence and communication skills for more polished and professional videos.
💼 Businesses/Content Marketers: Create more engaging and effective video content → increased brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales.
