How To Use “Cross-Pollination” To Generate Content Ideas

Running out of ideas for content can feel pretty desperate.

Ultimately, a content business’ oxygen is content.

Without a continuous stream of content ideas, a content business will waver and eventually fail.

But you’re about to learn how I use ChatGPT and the "cross-pollination method" to generate dozens of content ideas within 30 seconds.

First, what exactly is the cross-pollination method?

It involves mixing concepts or insights from different industries/niches to generate new ideas.

"Cross-pollinating" your content with other niches leads to *tonnes" of ideas.

The beauty of it?

ChatGPT can be used to supercharge the process.

The ChatGPT prompt template to use is below.

The trick to making it work:

Give it a broad content category to cross-pollinate with

Don't get too specific.

The Prompt Template 🤖:

"Please generate fresh content ideas by cross-pollinating my existing piece with concepts from other industries and niches.

The goal is to create unique and engaging content. Please use the following information to guide your response:

Topic of my existing content: [insert]

Target audience for the new content: [insert]

Please keep in mind that the suggestions you provide should be based on reasoning and ideally backed by relevant data/resources that I can access to form the basis of the content if I were to produce it”

Here’s an example:

I used the prompt template for a fashion blog.

I just input the category "jeans" into the prompt template and let it rip.

Other category examples I could have used include "business-casual attire" or "suits"

The cross-pollinated content ideas are in the screenshot.

Even if you don't use the content ideas exactly as they're suggested, they still serve as great inspiration.

You'll come up with content ideas you never would have dreamed of otherwise.

Try it out.

Cross-pollinate your existing content.

Generate new ideas on demand.

A quick update on the Writer’s Strike.

The Writers Guild of America is calling for a ban on the use of AI as a replacement for workers in the entertainment industry.

Hollywood writers are concerned that AI tools like ChatGPT could replace them, and the union is requesting that the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers ban the use of AI for writing and rewriting any source material.

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists has already voted unanimously to join the strike.
